Christians have been told to genuinely accept Jesus Christ so that their Christmas celebration will not be a mere waste of time and hard-earned resources .
Apostle Peter Olujide Adeniji, the General Overseer of God Is Able Covenant Mission Incorporated, gave the charge in his 2024 Christmas Carol, tagged, " Before And After the Birth Of Jesus Christ" , organized by the Commission, held at the church headquarters, Ita-Oshin, Abeokuta.
Apostle Adeniji, emphasized that christmas is beyond mere celebration, wining and dining but it rather calls for sober reflection on the supreme sacrifice of Jesus Christ to reconcile human race with God .
According to the clergy man, " The most precious things in the journey of life is the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, without the birth of Jesus Christ, there can't be the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ which are significant to the salvation of the whole world."
He highlighted what was obtained before the birth of Jesus Christ with making sacrifices to be declared holy before having access to the church and the right of associating with the people of God, until Jesus Christ was sent to the world to put a stop to all forms of sacrifice .
" The birth of Jesus Christ nullifies all sacrifices, take-away hindrances and shackles that prevent us from having access to God freely,"-- Apostle Adeniji stated.
" For God so love the world and give the only begotten son for whosoever that believe or accept Him will not perish but have everlasting life" , stressing, " God does not send His only begotten son to condemn the world but to exhibit undiluted love and mercy. So therefore, the night Jesus Christ, our redeemer was born shall be called a NIGHT OF MERCY."
The colourful Christmas Carol of 9 lessons featured reading of relevant scriptures, worship, praises and special performances from the church choir of Ita-Oshin, headquarters and Mango Camp Assemblies , treating the joyous congregation to the melodious Christmas tunes, while the church drama group was also on hand to stage a drama of the historic and miraculous birth of Jesus Christ to the admiration of all and sundry.
