With 24 countries jostling for the coveted 2023 African Cup Of Nations, the 34th edition, holding in Ivory Coast, the poor turn out of spectators has been the major concern of the Confederation Of African Football (CAF), football pundits and soccer loving Africans.

Monday matches were played out virtually in empty stadia which is an embarrassment for the tournament of such magnitude, the best African soccer show-piece.

In his reaction, the Ivorian Prime Minister, Robert Beugre, on Monday, said, " Measures will be taken to ensure full stadia."

" You will see the results in the next 48 hrs." - - - he said in response to criticism after less than 37, 000 fans watched Saturday's opening game between the hosts and Guinea Bissau at 60,000 seat Ebimpe Olympic stadium.
