EWEKORO LOCAL GOVERNMENT LADS DAZZLE AS EGBA DIVISION TEAM CLINCHES 2024 OGUN STATE PRIMARY SCHOOLS GOVERNOR'S CUP

......OGUN NAPSGAST Presents Award Of  Recognition To Hon Adesina Sikiru Adisa As The Best Executive Chairman In Egba Division Grassroots Sports Development.

Seven  lads from Ewekoro Local Government out of the eleven players that formed Egba Division Team that won the 2024 Ogun State Primary Schools Governor's cup amongst the three senatorial districts were the cynosure of all eyes at the keenly contested football event.

This is evident with the emergence of the two lads from Ewekoro Local Government, winning two valuable individual awards.

Speaking  on the victory of Egba Division, the Executive Chairman, Ewekoro Local Government, Hon. Adesina Sikiru Adisa, ably represented by the Vice Chairman, Hon Olabode Olasunkanmi Adegoke, expressed his delight towards the top notch performance of the Egba Division Team through Ewekoro Local Government lads that formed the nucleus part of the team.

He stated that Hon Adesina Sikiru Adisa is a lover of sports who can go extra mile in sponsoring  sporting activities, base on the fact that sports is the veritable tool in fostering unity and development across the globe.

"  Honestly,i am proud of these young lads, just be rest assured that sky is not even your limit but rather the beginning."

"Please as you are pursuing your football career, note that you must not joke with your education because you need both to succeed in life, even as footballers ,"he advised them.

On the award, the Local Government Boss, through the Vice Chairman, Hon Olabode Olasunkanmi Adegoke, thanked the National Association Of Primary Schools Games and Sports ,Ogun State (NAPSGAST) for the honour done on Hon.Adesina Sikiru Adisa, the Executive Chairman of Ewekoro Local Government.

" No doubt, this award will further motivate the chairman by doing more," he said.

In his own remarks, Comrade Sauban Bamgboye, the Chairman of Egba Division of Sports, appreciated the massive support of the Chairman, Hon Adesina Sikiru Adisa towards the successful participation of the Egba Division team in 2024 Ogun State Primary Schools Governor's cup.

" The Chairman has been the pillar of support in the realization of the objective of NAPSGAST in the discovery, keeping them fit and nurturing them to stardom, the budding talents in the Egba Division.

" I pray to God that Hon.Adesina Sikiru Adisa comes back for another three years to continue the good deeds, not only in sports but also in other sectors,"he concluded.

Earlier, Chief Semiu Adelani, the Executive Secretary, Local Government Education Authority, Ewekoro Local Government, took time to brief the gathering on the exploit of the Egba Division team which he described as amazing and heart warming.

Chief Adelani, particularly, mentioned Pascal Tomisin who was a thorn in the flesh of the opponents with mesmerizing skills, becoming the toast of the fans.

In her vote of thanks, the Acting Head Of Local Government Administration, Mrs Ogunyewo Kemi, thanked the Almighty God for the grace while appreciating the bodies, NAPSGAST, AOPSHON, SUBEB and NUT that were involved in the preparation of the team by winning the coveted trophy.

" I want to specially appreciate the technical team that worked on the boys with intense training, sharpening their skills which is responsible for the sterling performance of the boys,"she stated.

"Let me also thank these young lads for making Ewekoro Local Government proud. You must not rest on your oars until you achieve greatness.I pray that you will excel, play across Europe and become known like world famous stars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Austin Okocha and a host of other star players making wave all over places,"Mrs Ogunyewo concluded.

The players from Ewekoro Local Government who won individual awards, Lawal Abeeb who was the highest goal scorer, Pascal Tomisin, the most valuable player of the tournament and Akinwunmi Joseph who emerged as the second best in Chief (Dr)Moses Adekoyejo Majekodunmi foundation's 2024 Creativity Challenge, winning for himself the sum of One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira, price tag for the competition .

The high point of the event was the presentation of an award to Hon Adesina Sikiru Adisa as the Best Executive Chairman, Egba Division in the grassroot sports development , courtesy of National Association Of Primary Schools Games and Sports, Ogun State.
