The Super Falcons on Tuesday in far away Pretoria, secured 2024 Olympics qualification ticket against their bitter rivals, Bayana Bayana after playing a barren draw in the return leg.

The Nigerian Female National Team had earlier on Friday defeated their South African counterparts by a lone goal at M.K.O. Abiola International Stadium, Abuja, courtesy a first half penalty spot , converted by Rasheedat Ajibade, therefore, qualifying on 1--0 win aggregate to break the sixteen years of absence from the competition.

Coach Randy Waldrum led Super Falcons adopted a conservative approach to the crucial game, unlike the first leg, Nigeria ceded possession to the South Africans but effectively closed up the defense line to prevent Bayana Bayana from wreaking any havock.

Though, the Super Falcons had problem in their inter play connectivity in the middle of the pack but they still proved to be  threat to the Bayana Bayana defense with their best chance of the game in the second half, but Uchenna Kanu's effort was not good enough to rattle the South Africans.

The Super Falcons shot stopper, Chiamaka Nnadozie was instrumental in Nigeria solid defense play as she made daring saves to keep a clean sheet, rendering the captain and the danger woman of Bayana Bayana, Thembi Kgattana useless throughout the duration of the game.

The Super Falcons had previously played at Olympics in 2000, 2004 and 2008.

2024  Olympics is slated to take place in Paris, France, from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
