Otunba Taiwo OYEBANJO, the Chairman, Ojude Oba Iperu Planning Committee, has rejoiced with Muslims on the successful conclusion of the year 2024 Ramadan, and the celebration of the Eid ul-Fitr festival
The Chairman, according to a release issued by the Director, Media and Publicity of the committee, Tope OYEKAN, rejoiced with, and felicitate the entire Iperu Muslim community, both at home, and in the diaspora, as well as residents, for the grace to successfully observe, and conclude the holy month of Ramadan, leading to the Eid ul-Fitr celebration.
He thanked Allah for his protection over the muslim ummah, and wished them a glorious celebration.
He however enjoined them to continue to adhere strictly to the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammed (SAW), as they continue to live a life of piety, and total abstinence from all acts of immorality.
OYEBANJO further urged them to devote and dedicate their lives to service to humanity, by assisting the poor, the needy, and the less-privileged, while they should also embrace the spirit of love, peace, and forgiveness, towards their fellow humans, and gratitude towards Allah.
The Chairman equally used the medium to remind them about the forthcoming Ojude Oba Iperu, which shall hold in a couple of months, precisely on the third day of Ileya Festival 2024, as he seeks the active support and genuine participation of all Iperu stakeholders, regardless of religious affiliation.
The holy month of Ramadan, the 9th in the islamic calendar, preceeding the 10th month of Shawwal, is one of the five pillars of Islam, and lays the basis for how Muslims are required to live their lives.
It is a private act of worship that encourages deep spiritual reflection, and brings about nearness to God, spiritual discipline, and a means to empathize with the less-fortunate within the society.
The Eid ul-Fitri on its part, is the festival for the breaking of fast, which marks the end of Ramadan, and it is usually a great celebration, whereby prayers are offered to Allah, and families, friends, and associates come together to eat and also exchange gifts.
