......Pledges Renewed Support on World Teachers’ Day

The Executive Chairman of Ewekoro Local Government, Hon. Adesina Sikiru Adisa, has paid glowing tributes to teachers across the local government, Ogun State and the nation, describing them as the true architects of human capital and the foundation upon which sustainable development rests.

In a special message to mark World Teachers’ Day 2026, themed by UNESCO “Standing with teachers: 60 years of protecting the profession, advancing its status and shaping our futures,” the Council Boss said the day serves as a timely reminder of the need to continually elevate the status, welfare and professional standing of educators.

“Teachers are the silent heroes who shape minds, mould character and prepare successive generations for leadership and service.

In Ewekoro Local Government, as in every community across Nigeria, their dedication under often challenging conditions remains a source of inspiration. On this day, we stand firmly with our teachers,” Hon. Adesina stated.

The Chairman noted that his administration has prioritised education infrastructure as a core pillar of grassroots development.

He recalled the recent commissioning of classroom blocks, offices and related facilities in schools within the local government, including projects at Methodist Primary School in Abese-Arigbajo , U.D.C. Primary School, Annexe, Arigbajo , purchase of 800 Gallons of Blackboard Renovation Paint for 60 Primary Schools and earlier interventions in other wards, as concrete expressions of the commitment to improve the learning environment for both pupils and teachers.

Hon. Adesina reaffirmed that the Ewekoro Local Government under his leadership will continue to work in synergy with the Ogun State Government led by His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, to strengthen basic education delivery.

He assured teachers of sustained support through improved facilities, encouragement of continuous professional development and recognition of excellence in the classroom.

He called on parents, community leaders, traditional institutions, corporate organisations operating in Ewekoro Local Government and other stakeholders to join hands in honouring and supporting teachers not only on World Teachers’ Day but every day.

“When we invest in teachers, we invest in the future of our children and the progress of our local government and nation,” he added.

The Chairman extended warm felicitations to all teachers, head teachers, non-teaching staff and education stakeholders in Ewekoro Local Government, wishing them continued strength, wisdom and fulfilment in their noble calling.
