OKUNNUGA BOWS OUT IN GLORY AFTER 35 YEARS, CELEBRATES RETIREMENT WITH CHARITY VISIT TO STELLA OBASANJO CHILDREN'S HOME

Mrs. Okunnuga Teleola, an Internal Auditor with the Ogun State Agricultural Development Programme, has formally retired from the Ogun State Civil Service after 35 years of meritorious and unblemished service, marking the end of a distinguished public sector career defined by diligence, integrity and commitment.

A befitting pen-down ceremony was held in her honour on Thursday, February 19, 2026, where colleagues, friends and well-wishers paid glowing tributes to her professionalism, dedication to duty and exemplary conduct in service delivery. 

Speakers at the event described her as a meticulous officer whose contributions significantly strengthened accountability within the system.

In a demonstration of gratitude to God for a successful career journey, Mrs. Okunnuga extended her celebration beyond formal ceremonies. 

On Saturday, February 21, 2026, she visited the Stella Obasanjo Children’s Home, where she presented gifts and shared moments of joy with the children as part of her thanksgiving activities.

The charitable outreach underscored her long-standing values of compassion and generosity, reflecting a desire to give back to society at a milestone moment in her life. 

The visit was warmly received by the management and children of the home, who expressed appreciation for the thoughtful gesture.

The celebration later continued at her residence, where family members, friends, associates and church members gathered for a colourful reception filled with prayers, testimonies and heartfelt goodwill messages.

Delivering a sermon titled “Journey of Mercy for Thanksgiving,” Pastor Paul Wuraola of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Oke Ibukun, described the retiree as a God-fearing woman whose life exemplifies steadfast faith and faithful service. 

He likened her career journey to that of the Israelites in Egypt, noting that despite challenges encountered along the way, divine grace saw her through triumphantly.

According to the cleric, Mrs. Okunnuga “started well, saw and conquered,” emphasizing that her successful and peaceful retirement was a testament to God’s sustaining power. 

He urged her to dedicate the new phase of her life to wholehearted service to God, describing her retirement as an entry into a promised season of fulfilment and inheritance.

Pastor Kunle Soyoye led special prayers for the celebrant and her family, committing her new chapter into God’s hands. 

In an emotional remark, her mother, Deaconess Dorcas Afolake Salami, thanked God for preserving her daughter throughout the rigours of public service, describing her as hardworking, caring, meticulous and generous.

In her vote of thanks, an elated Mrs. Okunnuga expressed profound gratitude to God for guiding her through the challenges and triumphs of her career. 

She appreciated her family for their unwavering support and thanked all guests for honouring her and celebrating God’s faithfulness in her life, wishing them safe journeys back to their various destinations.
