The Executive Chairman of Ewekoro Local Government , Hon. Adesina Sikiru Adisa has extended warm Christmas greetings to Christian faithful across the council area, urging them to celebrate the season in peace, love, and unity as exemplified by the birth of Jesus Christ.
In his Christmas message, the Chairman , described the birth of Christ as a powerful reminder of God’s love for humanity, noting that the season offers an opportunity for deep reflection on values that promote harmony, sacrifice, humility, and selfless service to others.
He emphasized that the life and teachings of Jesus Christ remain timeless, calling on Christians to emulate His virtues by showing compassion to the less privileged, promoting forgiveness, and living in peace with one another, irrespective of religious or social differences.
According to Hon. Adesina, the true essence of Christmas goes beyond merrymaking, as it challenges individuals and communities to contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of society through acts of kindness, tolerance, and collective responsibility.
He further encouraged residents of Ewekoro Local Government to use the festive period to strengthen family bonds and community ties, stressing that peaceful coexistence remains essential for sustainable development and progress at the grassroots level.
While wishing residents a joyful celebration, the Chairman expressed concern over the recurring cases of road accidents during festive periods and cautioned motorists and other road users to strictly obey traffic regulations.
He advised drivers to avoid excessive speed, reckless driving, and the consumption of alcohol before driving, while also urging commuters and commercial drivers to be patient and considerate on the roads.
The Chairman particularly warned against night travel, noting that poor visibility, fatigue, and increased security risks often associated with late-night journeys make such movements unsafe during the festive season.
He concluded by assuring residents of the local government’s commitment to their safety and welfare, while wishing Christians in Ewekoro Local Government and beyond a peaceful Christmas celebration and a prosperous New Year.
