The Chairman of the Ogun State Local Government Service Commission, Ms Olivia Olubukunola Onabanjo, has encouraged staff of Ifo Local Government to remain committed to their duties, noting that the government continues to give staff welfare top priority.
Ms Onabanjo, who was represented by the Full-Time Commissioner 1, Hon. Olufemi Adiro, gave the charge during an official working visit to the Council on Friday, 31st October, 2025.
Speaking at the meeting held at the Local Government Secretariat, Hon. Adiro stressed the importance of punctuality and diligence in public service, reminding staff that excellence in service delivery begins with personal discipline and dedication.
In her remarks, the Permanent Secretary of the Commission, Engr. Olanike Olawunmi Ogunbona, FNSE, commended the Executive Chairman of Ifo Local Government, Hon. Idris Olalekan Kusimo, for his steadfast commitment to staff welfare. She encouraged workers to reciprocate this gesture by demonstrating hard work and commitment in their various departments.
Addressing requests presented by the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, Ifo Branch, through its Chairman, Comrade Jimoh Aliu Babatunde, Engr. Ogunbona urged staff to invest in personal and professional development. She advised them to make good use of in house training opportunities and pursue higher educational qualifications that can support career growth and future advancement within the service
Welcoming the delegation, the Head of Local Government Administration, Mr Fatai Ogundele, expressed appreciation to Ms. Onabanjo and her team for the visit, noting that it offered a firsthand understanding of the Council’s developmental needs. The event was attended by the Executive Chairman of Ifo Local Government, Hon. Idris Olalekan Kusimo; the Vice Chairman, Hon. Abibat Ojo; the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon Temitope Adegboyega; Councillors, Supervisors, Special Advisers, Directors of various departments and other staff of the Local Government.
The visit formed part of the Commission’s ongoing tour of the twenty Local Government Areas in Ogun State.
