The Management of Ewekoro Local Government has issued a public notice informing residents, commuters, and the general public of an imminent diversion of traffic due to intensified construction works around the Onigbedu Junction corridor leading to Dangote Road.
Beginning from December 1, 2025, construction activities in the area will advance into a more critical phase and are expected to last for two weeks, during which controlled movement and temporary traffic redirection will be enforced for safety.
According to the management, the Onigbedu–Dangote Road axis will experience increased heavy-duty operations, machinery movement, and excavation activities, which make the area unsuitable for uninterrupted vehicular flow throughout this period.
To minimize disruption and maintain smooth transit within the locality, motorists and cyclists are hereby advised to make use of the Itori Complex Route, which will serve temporarily as both the entry and exit passage during the two-week construction exercise.
The council emphasizes that the alternative route has been properly assessed and designated to safely accommodate the expected increase in traffic volume, while allowing construction teams to work without hindrance.
Residents and business owners within the affected corridors are encouraged to plan their movements accordingly and remain patient as the improvement work progresses within the stipulated two-week timeline.
The Management further appeals to all road users to exercise caution, adhere strictly to traffic signs, and comply with security and road marshals deployed to guide movement and prevent avoidable incidents.
Ewekoro Local Government reassures the public of government commitment to enhancing road infrastructure within the community and expresses appreciation for the understanding and cooperation of all stakeholders throughout the construction period.
