ABEOKUTA NORTH LG HONOURS SHOBERU, FAREMI IN GRAND CELEBRATION OF EXCELLENCE, NEW APPOINTMENTS

Abeokuta North Local Government has celebrated two of its own—Mrs. Funmilayo Shoberu and Mr. Olusola Faremi—following their recent promotions in the Ogun State Local Government Service. The colourful event held on Friday December 5, 2025, at the Council Secretariat, Akomoje, was attended by the management team, administrative officers, accountants, and other well-wishers.

Mrs. Shoberu is the newly appointed Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA), Abeokuta South Local Government, while Mr. Faremi now serves as Head, General Services and Administration, Imeko-Afon Local Government.

Representing the Executive Chairman, Dr. ’Lanre Oyegbola-Sodipo, the Vice Chairman, Hon. Taiyelolu Egbeyemi, delivered the Chairman’s goodwill message, noting that an urgent political assignment prevented the Chairman’s physical presence.

Egbeyemi praised the celebrants for their diligence, calm disposition, and cooperation during their service in Abeokuta North Local Government. He described them as “easy-going but highly effective officers” and charged them to be firm in decision-making, stressing that leadership responsibilities are exposed to scrutiny from all angles. The Chairman prayed for divine strength for them to overcome challenges and excel in their new roles.

In her goodwill remarks, the Head of Local Government Administration, Abeokuta North, Mrs. Kikelomo Munirat Ajayi, thanked God for the lives of the honourees and commended their shared commitment to teamwork. She advised them to remain focused, resist unnecessary distractions, and continue to uphold harmony in their new stations

“Manage political functionaries with wisdom, work without fear or favour, and treat your administrative staff as one family. Share ideas and seek guidance from your senior colleagues whenever necessary,” she counselled, praying for God’s protection over their careers and personal lives.

Responding on behalf of both celebrants, the newly appointed HOLGA, Abeokuta South, Mrs. Funmilayo Shoberu, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the management of Abeokuta North for the warm and unexpected honour. She thanked the leadership for the confidence reposed in them and pledged that neither she nor Mr. Faremi would disappoint in their new assignments.

The presentation of gifts was jointly performed by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Taiyelolu Egbeyemi, and HOLGA, Mrs. Kikelomo Ajayi.
