LIGHT UP OGUN: HON ADESINA LAUDS GOV . ABIODUN ON EFFORTS TO PROVIDE ADEQUATE ELECTRICITY SUPPLY IN OGUN STATE

  .....as Gov. Abiodun promises 24- hour of uninterrupted electricity supply to most parts of Abeokuta 

Without mincing words, a reliable electricity supply is essential and a critical driver of nation's economic growth and development, base on  this premise, the Ogun State Government, led by His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring that the people of the state enjoy adequate electricity supply.

As part of his efforts is the  ongoing  construction of INDEPENDENT MINI POWER GENERATING PLANT of the light up Ogun State project , located at Ewekoro Local Government.

The gigantic project which is the first phase, when completed will generate 100 megawatts.

According to Governor Abiodun, " Generation, Transmission and Distribution are no more exclusive and Ogun State has passed the law. We are actually generating, this is the first phase of our intended 100 megawatts generating capacity which will be generated from this location",--Prince Abiodun disclosed 

" Though we may not be able to supply electricity to the whole of Abeokuta but substantial part of Abeokuta will enjoy 24 hours of uninterrupted electricity supply, and that will be unprecedented achievements in the history of Ogun State",--he added.

The independent mini power generating plant will also be replicated in Sagamu, Ota and Ijebu-Ode to ensure that it cuts across the state and reduce load on the national grid.

" The whole idea is that by the time we provide the independent mini power generating plants in other part of the state, such as Sagamu, Ota and Ijebu-Ode, it will allow the national grid to be sufficient for our smaller villages . "

Meanwhile , in his reactions to the new development, the Executive Chairman  Of Ewekoro Local Government, Hon Adesina Sikiru Adisa has lauded the Ogun State Governor, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, in his efforts to making the state a preferred choice of investors which have been yielding positive results.

Hon Adesina Sikiru Adisa made the statement during the inspection tour of the mini independent power generating plant by the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, to ascertain the level of work at the plant location in Ewekoro Local Government.

" This is marvelous, it is unprecedented and it will surely be of immense impact on the economic growth of our dear state. I'm the happiest person because the mini generating plant is located within my domain which will be of great benefit to my people in Ewekoro Local Government"

According to the Chairman, " Our amiable Governor has been so magnanimous to Ewekoro Local Government due to the fact that the council area has benefited from the state government many impactful projects, such as ground breaking of the Gateway Inland Dry Port at Soderu village in Papalanto/Itori in Ewekoro Local Government."

" The Gateway Inland Dry Port, when becomes operational, it will provide both direct and indirect jobs for people which will in no small measure, further improve the economic status of our people,"--he emphasized.

The Ogun State Governor, had taken the advantage of the new Electricity Act signed by President Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, heeding the calls of Nigerians that the power sector be reformed and removed from the exclusive list which will allow states to generate, transmit and distribute electricity within their jurisdiction.
