" Come Up With Ideas That Will Shore Up The Revenue Base"--Hon Adesina Enjoins Ewekoro LG IGR Committee Members.

Without gainsaying , it is an obvious fact that the Internally Generated Revenue is the pivotal and bedrock of any development and the essential tool government at all levels rely on to fast track meaningful development, welfare package for the citizenry.

It is on this premise that the Executive Chairman Of Ewekoro Local Government Area Of Ogun State, Hon Adesina Sikiru Adisa has enjoined the  Internally Generated Revenue Committee (IGR) members to come up with ideas that will shore up the revenue base of the Local Government.

The Chairman made the statement during the inauguration of the IGR Committee in his office.

Hon Adesina, explained that the Internally Generated Revenue Committee is constituted to ensure improvement on the revenue from markets , consultants and other revenue sources in the Local Government.

" I am using this opportunity to charge this committee to ensure that all efforts are geared toward monitoring all revenue collectors in the Local Government, "--- the Chairman added.

While, reiterating the need to establish the committee as a result of the recent times experience of more demands from the people at the grassroots.

His words: " It is no gainsaying that the committee will need to surpass the achievements recorded in my first term in office"

The Council helmsman, therefore, prayed to Allah to strengthen the committee members in the course of the official assignment.

In her acceptance speech, the Chairman of the Committee, Alhaja Nurat Abisola Aliyu, on behalf of the IGR Committee members, expressed her gratitude to the Executive Chairman, Hon Adesina Sikiru Adisa for the appointment and the trust reposed in them.

" Sir, i want to sincerely appreciate my Chairman for this opportunity to serve in this capacity. I promise not to disappoint, while assuring you that the committee will deliver and surpass the record formerly achieved by our predecessors."

Alhaja Aliyu, therefore, sought for the cooperation and maximal support of the committee members in the onerous task of generating revenue for the council in order to meet the yearnings of the council people as well as fulfilling the electoral promises made by the Hon Adesina led administration.

In his own remarks, the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon Adewale Aladeselu, advised the committee to work hard to be able to achieve meaningful success, stressing that IGR plays major role in the accomplishment of any government laudable achievements.

" I'm urging this committee to work as a unit so that our IGR can be significantly harnessed and avoid over reliance on monthly Federal allocation and grants."

He , therefore,prayed to God to provide for the committee the wherewithal to succeed in the enormous task.

Speaking in the same vein, the Head Of Local Government Administration, Mrs Solomon Elizabeth A, admonished the committee to work in harmony in order to achieve greatly , saying, " Without robust revenue base, nothing can be achieved"

She assured Alhaja Aliyu led committee of the Chairman's support whenever there is need for it.

" Our Chairman has always been there for us and i am cock sure he will continue to be there for us."

" With Alhaja Aliyu, i know she will bring her wealth of experience, versatility, strong political will and energy to bear. Thank God, the committee can as well boast of seasoned technocrats that know their onions, so i have no doubt in my mind that the committee will succeed."--- Mrs Solomon concluded.

The Highpoint Of the event was the swearing-in of the IGR Committee members and presentation of appointment letters by the Executive Chairman, Hon Adesina Sikiru Adisa.
