....... Chelsea whitewash FC Noah 8-0 at Stamford Bridge in Conference League.
Manchester United fans can now heave a sigh of relief after their darling team recorded its first UEFA Europa League win of the season against hard fighting , Greek champions, PAOK Salonika by two goals to nothing, after drawing their earlier opening three matches .
The PAOK with 4,000 fans , who besieged Old Trafford to cheer their team to victory were disappointed as the Red Devils proved a hard nut to crack.
After the cagey first half, both teams tried to outwit each other but with United having an edge , needed to wait till 50th minute to break the deadlock with Amad Diallo's looping header.
Diallo was on song again in the 77th minute with a fine curling shot from outside the box rested at the bottom corner of the net to seal victory for Manchester United.
For the PAOK Salonika, the loss adds to their struggles in the competition. PAOK has participated in the UEFA Europa League multiple times, with their best finishes being a round of 32 appearance in the 2011/12, 2013/14 and 2016/17 seasons.
In the meantime, it was goal rain at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea was ruthless against FC NOAH, scoring eight goals without conceding any .
The Blues left no one in doubt about their "suicidal mission" , right from the blast of the whistle, they kept pilling pressure on the hapless visitors' defence . It took Chelsea just 12 minutes to register the first goal through Tosin Adarabioyo in the one sided encounter.
Marc Guiu , Axel Diasi, Joao Felix with a brace , C. Nkunku , also with a brace, M. Mudryk all registered their names in the scorers' sheet to demolish FC NOAH.
Meanwhile, in another UEFA Europa League encounter, the 10-man Tottenham Hotspurs met their waterloo in the hands of the Galatasaray, with Victor Osimhen punishing Hotspurs with a brace to end the encounter by 3-2 in favour of the Turkish giant.
