The Executive Chairman of Ewekoro Local Government, Hon. Adesina Sikiru Adisa, has reiterated the significance of the new digitalized Baales' Certificate as a tool to prevent multiple claims to the Baale title in a single domain and ensure global recognition.
Speaking during the presentation of the certificates to another set of 19 Baales at the Council Conference Room, Itori, Hon. Adesina noted:
"This is an opportunity for you to be globally recognized as authentic Baales of your communities. Though the full importance may not be immediately clear to some, it will become evident with time."
He added that the digital certificate has permanently resolved the issue of multiple claims, which often lead to power tussles and threaten communal peace.
The Chairman assured the new Baales that the government will only recognize holders of the new digital certificate.
Hon. Adesina urged the Baales to support the council’s internally generated revenue efforts so that dividends of democracy can reach every part of the local government.
He further assured the baales of continuous government support, promising that the local government will continue to collaborate with traditional rulers to forster peace, security and sustainable development across all communities in the council area .
In his welcome address, the Acting Head of Local Government Administration, Mr. Ige Samuel, described the initiative as unprecedented in Ogun State.
"Today, Ewekoro Local Government is the only council in Ogun State presenting digitalized certificates to Baales. This is not by accident but the result of the uncommon wisdom of our Chairman."
Mr. Ige also noted Ewekoro’s consistent excellence, including its recognition as one of the best-performing local governments in the state.
The new digitalized certificate features advanced security features , making it nearly impossible to forge or duplicate.
This technological innovation positions Ewekoro Local Government as a pacesetter in the digitization of traditional institutions in Nigeria.
The newly certificated Baale, Chief Ibikunle Adekunle Isreal , Baale Gudugba , expressed profound gratitude on behalf of Baales from Papalanto. He described the certificate as a “game changer” that has brought dignity and legitimacy to their traditional roles while protecting the sanctity of their domains from impostors.
In his own remarks, Chief Onigbinde Ayinla Sulaimon, Baale Ikija Ilefun, speaking of behalf of other Baales at the event, commended Hon. Adesina Sikiru Adisa for the innovation, describing it as a lasting solution to chieftaincy disputes.
He disclosed that inquiries about the digital certificate have come from beyond Nigeria, with experts hailing it as the best way to authenticate Baaleship and grant global recognition.
