The Executive Chairman of Ewekoro Local Government, Hon. Adesina Sikiru Adisa, has sworn in Hon. Akanni Olusegun as the new Education Board Secretary of Ewekoro Local Government, charging him to bring his experience to bear in advancing the development of the education sector in the council area.
The brief swearing-in ceremony, which took place at the Chairman’s Office within the Ewekoro Local Government Secretariat, marked a new administrative step for the Local Government Education Authority as it continues efforts to strengthen educational governance and service delivery across the council.
Hon. Akanni Olusegun, a former Supervisor for Budget, Planning, Research and Statistics in the local government, was appointed to the position following the demise of the former Education Board Secretary, Mr. Jimo Babatunde, who also served at a time as Secretary to the Ewekoro Local Government.
Speaking at the ceremony, the council’s helmsman, Hon. Adesina Sikiru Adisa, expressed confidence in the ability of the newly appointed Education Board Secretary to deliver effectively in his new role, noting that his previous experience in public service would greatly benefit the education sector in the local government.
The chairman stated that Hon. Akanni Olusegun possesses the required administrative competence and political experience to contribute meaningfully to policies and programmes aimed at improving the quality of education within Ewekoro Local Government.
"Hon. Akanni Olusegun will use his vast experience to contribute meaningfully to the development of the education sector in our local government,” the chairman said, while urging him to justify the confidence reposed in him through dedication and hard work.
Hon. Adesina Sikiru Adisa also appreciated the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, for his role and directive that facilitated the replacement of the late Education Board Secretary who passed away a few months ago.
In his acceptance speech, Hon. Akanni Olusegun expressed gratitude to the Executive Chairman for finding him worthy of the appointment and assured that he would not disappoint the confidence reposed in him.
He pledged to work diligently and ensure that he leaves no stone unturned in the discharge of his responsibilities.
The event further underscored the commitment of the Ewekoro Local Government Administration under the leadership of Hon. Adesina Sikiru Adisa to strengthening institutional capacity and improving educational administration in the council area for the benefit of pupils, teachers, and the entire community.

Ewedairo Ige; Acting Head of Local Government Administration, Sanitarian Ige Samuel; Education Secretary, Local Government Education Authority, Ewekoro Local Government, Prince Semiu Adelani; Mr. Okanlawon Kazeem, Chairman of the Education Board, and other notable officials and stakeholders.
