Odeda Local Government has organized a special intercessory prayer session for its workforce, committing the affairs of the Local Government and its staff into the hands of God for divine guidance, protection, and overall success.
The prayer session, held at the Odeda Local Government Secretariat, brought together management and staff across all departments in an atmosphere of faith, unity, and spiritual reflection.
Prayers were offered for peace, good health, wisdom in service delivery, harmony among staff, and the sustainable development of Odeda Local Government.
In her keynote address, the Executive Chairman of Odeda Local Government, Dr. Waliat Folasade Adeyemo, gave glory to Almighty God for the grace to witness another year. She described the gathering as an opportunity to reflect on the past year’s achievements and to chart a purposeful path for the new year.
The Chairman expressed her heartfelt appreciation to members of staff for their dedication and commitment to duty, commending them for their contributions to a productive year.
She also recalled the disbursement of end-of-year bonuses to staff, noting that staff welfare remains a key priority of her administration.
Speaking on Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), Dr. Adeyemo reiterated that new modalities for revenue collection would soon be introduced.
She disclosed that all internally generated revenues would henceforth be paid directly into the coffers of the Local Government to enhance transparency and accountability.
She further emphasized that all revenue officers, both career officers and political functionaries, would be properly trained and retrained to improve efficiency and strengthen the IGR system.
In his opening remarks, the Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA), Mr. Oluwole Fateru, commended the Executive Chairman for her dedication and unwavering commitment to staff welfare, particularly the payment of end-of-year bonuses.
He also appreciated her consistent care and concern for staff members who were ill, assuring her of the total and unflinching support of the entire workforce toward the success of her administration.
Delivering the vote of thanks, the Chairman of the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Odeda Branch, Comrade Rasheed Solanke, expressed gratitude to the Executive Chairman for her continuous support and dedication to staff welfare.
He assured her of the union’s full cooperation and the continued support of workers in ensuring the success of her administration.
Dignitaries present at the prayer session included the Executive Chairman of Odeda Local Government, Dr. Waliat Folasade Adeyemo; the Head of Local Government Administration, Mr. Oluwole Fateru; Directors and Heads of Departments; as well as staff of the Local Government.
