....... Chairman, Adesina Sikiru Says Enhanced IGR , Key To Grassroots Development.
The Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) Committee of Ewekoro Local Government has held a strategic engagement with contractors operating within the council area, urging them to ensure prompt and accurate rendition of revenue in line with existing regulations.
The committee noted that sustained compliance by contractors is essential to further increase the IGR profile of Ewekoro Local Government, which remains one of the leading local governments in revenue generation within Ogun State.
Addressing the contractors, the Chairman of Ewekoro Local Government, Hon. Adesina Sikiru Adisa, emphasized that a robust IGR system is critical to effective grassroots governance and improved service delivery.
According to the chairman, enhanced internally generated revenue will enable the local government to perform optimally and deliver meaningful dividends of democracy to residents across the council area.
“We have a lot to do for our people,” Hon. Adisa stated. “With good IGR, we will be able to provide quality healthcare services, improve infrastructure, ensure qualitative education for our children, and empower our youths and women.”
He further called on contractors to view revenue compliance as a civic duty and a partnership for development, stressing that adherence to revenue guidelines would accelerate socio-economic growth within Ewekoro Local Government.
In addition, the chairman assured stakeholders that the local government would continue to strengthen its revenue monitoring mechanisms to ensure transparency, accountability, and fairness in the collection process, while also creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.
Members of the IGR Committee reiterated the council’s commitment to aligning its revenue drive with the Ogun State Government’s policy on financial sustainability at the grassroots, noting that improved IGR remains a key pillar for sustainable development and effective local administration.

Aladeselu Adewale, the Head Of Local Government Administration, Mrs Ogunyewo Oluwakemi Mutiat, Director Of General Services and Administration, Mr. D.W. Anigboro, Director Of Finance and Supply, Alhaja Taiwo Basirat, Internal Auditor, Mrs Alaran Morufat, Chief Accountant, Mr. Ojo Fatai, Senior Administrative Officer and IGR Secretary, Mr. Adenopo Ibrahim, as well as the revenue accountant, Mr. Seun George.
