Odeda Local Government, in compliance with the directive of the Ogun State Local Government Service Commission, has conducted a one-day in-house training aimed at strengthening staff capacity and boosting administrative efficiency.
The training, held on 22nd November 2026 at the Local Government Secretariat, was themed “Enhancing Work Performance and Service Delivery in Odeda Local Government.” The programme focused on equipping employees with updated skills and knowledge essential for effective grassroots governance.
Speaking at the event, the Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA), Mr. Oluwole Fateru, commended the Ogun State Local Government Service Commission for its commitment to staff development. He noted that continuous capacity building remains critical to achieving excellence in governance and ensuring quality service delivery to citizens.
Also addressing the participants, the Director of General Services and Administration (DGS&A), Mr. Oyekan Johnson, underscored the importance of regular training and retraining for staff, stressing that a well-updated workforce is essential for meeting modern administrative demands. He urged attendees to apply the knowledge gained to improve efficiency across their various departments.
The management of Odeda Local Government reiterated its dedication to human capital development, describing it as a cornerstone for sustainable growth and improved service delivery within the council area.
In his remarks, the NULGE Chairman, Odeda Chapter, Comrade Sholanke Rosheed, praised the initiative and described the training as timely and impactful. He encouraged staff to put the lessons learned into practice to enhance their daily operations and better serve the community.
The event was attended by Heads of Departments, Directors, and a broad representation of staff from across the local government.
