Ewekoro Local Government has been declared the overall best-performing local government in Ogun State at the 2025 Local Government Service Week organized by the Ogun State Local Government Service Commission. The prestigious honour stands as a recognition of excellence, diligence, and innovation in local governance and grassroots development.
According to the organizers, the assessment criteria for the award included the timely rendition of statutory reports, outstanding performance in Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), and regular in-service training programmes aimed at enhancing staff efficiency and improving service delivery. These parameters, they noted, remain fundamental indicators of administrative effectiveness and sustainable local development.
The announcement of Ewekoro Local Government as the overall best was greeted with jubilation, as both political office holders and career officers of the council celebrated the remarkable feat with excitement and applause. Speaking shortly after receiving the award, the Executive Chairman of Ewekoro Local Government expressed profound appreciation to the Ogun State Local Government Service Commission, led by Ms. Olivia Olubukunola Onabanjo, for recognizing the council’s commitment to excellence and people-oriented governance. In her remarks, the Permanent Secretary of the Ogun State Local Government Service Commission, Engr.
