Ewekoro Local Government , Ogun State – In a historic and colourful ceremony, the Executive Chairman of Ewekoro Local Government has swore in 50 Senior Political Assistants and Political Assistants appointed by the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, across the ten wards of the Local Government Area.
In his remarks, the Chairman commended Governor Dapo Abiodun for his consistent commitment to inclusive governance and for the unprecedented number of political appointments under his administration. He described the gesture as a milestone in the history of Ogun State, noting that such a level of political engagement had never been witnessed before.
" Sir , Your Excellency , we deeply appreciate your foresight, vision and confidence in our people. This singular act of appointing our sons and daughters into positions of responsibility as further demonstrated your belief in harnessing Local capacity for statewide progress."
The Chairman further charged the newly inaugurated Senior Political Assistants and Political Assistants to justify the confidence reposed in them by working diligently to mobilize residents in their wards, particularly by encouraging them to register and obtain their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs). He stressed the importance of ensuring that no eligible voter is left out of the electoral process, thereby strengthening participatory democracy in the state.
While, equally stressing that their appointment is a call to service, adding, " I charge you to be diligent, humble and committed in the discharge of your duties. Always remember that your appointment is about service, and your service will be measured by the positive impact you bring to your communities."
In their separate goodwill messages, the APC Chairman, Ewekoro Local Government, Alhaji Ayinde Sogbamu, the chairman of Chairmen of the ten wards in the council area, Chief Aboloyinjo Aremu and Mrs Temitayo Adesanya , the leader of women leaders in the Local Government , unanimously spoke glowingly of Governor Dapo Abiodun’s administration, lauding his transformational leadership, people-oriented projects, and unprecedented political inclusiveness.
They equally applauded the Executive Chairman of Ewekoro Local Government for his dedication to grassroots development, citing the impactful projects that have transformed the council area under his leadership.
Speaking, the Olu of Itori, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Abdul-Fatai Akorede Akamo who was represented by Alhaji Bankole Olawale, Adagunja Of Itori land , expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Ogun State Governor, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun,CON, for the appointments of the Senior Political Assistants and Political Assistants and for the presence of the State Government through laudable projects within the council area.
The monarch remarked that the Local Government had never had it so good, while commending the Executive Chairman, Hon Adesina Sikiru Adisa for his visionary leadership and steadfastness in the transformation of Ewekoro Local Government.
While, urging both the Executive Arm and the Legislative Council members to give their full support to the Chairman and avoid any rancour that could hinder the progress and meaningful development in the council area.
He advised that any crisis that may arise should be settled amicably in the interest of peace and growth.
The revered traditional ruler, also called on the people of the Local Government to give maximum support to the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, and the Executive Chairman, Hon Adesina Sikiru Adisa in their quest to make life better for all and sundry.
Similarly, some of the appointees who spoke with the Council's Information crew, expressed their joy, thanking the Ogun State Governor for the appointment with a promise to remain loyal to the party. They enjoined other party members to work ceaselessly for the progress of the party with the belief that togetherness, they will move mountains.
Furthermore, they also commended the Executive Chairman, Hon Adesina Sikiru Adisa for his consistency and leadership by example, with life-touching programmes that cut across all genders.
