As part of the National Nutrition-774 initiative launched recently by the Federal Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, the Executive Chairman, Yewa South Local Government, Hon. Abraham Babatunde Ogunsola has inaugurated the local government committee on food and nutrition in Yewa South Local Government in his office on Tuesday, 13th May, 2025.
The initiative which is aimed at ensuring the effective delivery of nutrition intervention in Yewa South Local Government, with specific focus on improving maternal and child nutrition ,fostering good health and well being of the people at the grassroots is being headed by the the vice chairman of the Local Government, Hon Bankole Olanrewaju.
Delivering his inaugural speech, the council boss enjoined the committee members to work tirelessly in bringing hunger to zero level in the Local Government area.
He assured the committee of his unflinching support both financially and morally to ensure the success of the program in the Local Government area.
Responding, the chairman of the committee , Hon. Bankole Olanrewaju appreciated the good gesture of His excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun , CON, the executive governor of Ogun state for involving them in a laudable initiative like this, at this point in time that food is becoming a scarce commodity in many homes.
He however assured the government of optimal nutrition for survival, growth and development of every child and women including pregnant women.
He said all hands would be on deck to bring hunger to zero level at the Local Government area .
Inaugurated along with the chairman of the committee are, Mrs Olabode the LGA nutritionist, as the secretary of the committee. Other members include, S.A to the Chairman on Special Duties,LGA secretary, Supervisor for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Supervisor for Health, Supervisor for Information, supervisor for Water Supply and Environmental Sanitation .
The local Government Health secretary, Director of Finance, Director of Agriculture and Natural Resources,Director of Information.
Also , witnessing the inauguration was the Head Of Local Government Administration , Mr. Oluwole Feteru.
