The Ogun State Security Agency and Amotekun Corps , Ewekoro Local Government Command has called on the Chairman of Ewekoro Local Government Area Of Ogun State, Hon Adesina Sikiru Adisa to give the agency more support to perform optimally as a security agency.
The call was made by AMT. Bisiriyu Lateef , Coordinator, Amotekun Corps, Ewekoro Local Government Command during the courtesy visit to the Chairman, at the Local Government Secretariat, Itori.
According to AMT Bisiriyu Lateef, Amotekun is a rebirth Corps under Brigadier General Alani Adedigba and since then , the agency has recorded tremendous achievements in the state, while the Ewekoro Local Government Command is not an exception in terms of achievements which include unraveling and apprehension of the culprit of the gruesome murder case at Abalabi, putting a stop to stealing and vandalisation of government properties at Ajegunle, while ensuring strict compliance by the people in the regulation of the activities of the scavengers within the council area, according to the bill passed by the Ogun State House Of Assembly among other laudable achievements.
AMT Bisiriyu, therefore, seized the opportunity to highlight the challenges of the Amotekun Corps in Ewekoro Local Government to include outpost, especially at the dark spot to ensure their presence at all times, and operational items to perform effectively.
Also, he sought for the Corps involvement in the security stakeholders meeting at the Local Government as a government security outfit.
" You must have it at the back of your mind that it is an opportunity to contribute your own quota and the need to be good ambassadors of Ewekoro Local Government so that we can be proud of you,"--the Chairman charged them.
" On the issue of outpost, it is for our own good but it bothers on you, if you want outposts in all the 10 wards, we will provide them, once you get the location and get us informed,"--the Chairman stated.
" We are very glad that you are there for us.You have been very active as our indigenous police.We urge you to do more and keep the flag flying so that people can see the effectiveness of the Corps in ensuring peace and tranquility,"---She said.
In his vote of thanks, the Secretary to the Local Government,Hon Adewale Aladeselu thanked the officers of the Amotekun Corps for their visit, while assuring them that the Executive Chairman will see to their requests in due course.
In attendance were the Vice Chairman, Alhaja Abisola Nurat Aliyu, Secretary to the Local Government,Hon Adewale Aladeselu, Head Of Local Government Administration, Mrs Solomon Elizabeth, Director of General Services and Administration,Mr Anigbiro D.W., Director of Finance and Supply, Alhaja Taiwo Basirat,Head Of Education, Information and Sports, Mr. Olopade Sakiru,Head Of Agriculture and Natural Resources,Mr. Ogunmuyiwa Kayode and other principal officers of the Local Government.
