IFO LG : HON.IDRIS KUSIMO ENGAGES WOMEN LEADERS, MARKET WOMEN ON EMPOWERMENT

In fulfilment of His electoral promises and efforts geared towards women empowerment, the Executive Chairman, Ifo Local Government, Hon. Idris Kusimo, recently held a crucial meeting with market women and women leaders across the eleven wards of the Council Area to intimate and collaborate with them on various strategies aimed at empowering them economically. 

The meeting which focused on women empowerment initiatives and explored avenues for economic growth within the Council Area was held at the Conference Hall of the Local Government. 
During the interactive session, Hon. Kusimo shared his vision for empowering women in the Local Government. According to him, his administration has concluded plans with Smart Gas in collaboration with Guarantee Trust Bank on clean energy. With this partnership, women across the Council Area will be provided with free gas cookers which will promote clean energy usage and reduce carbon emissions. 

Other initiatives enumerated by the Council boss include the establishment of Cassava Processing Centre within the Local Government Secretariat which is expected to take off in the first quarter of the year. This project is in collaboration with Soar Farms Ltd. The initiative aims to assist the women folk to add value to agricultural produce and increase their income.
According to the Chairman, a Computer Based Test (CBT) Centre will soon be established within the Council Secretariat. This center will provide affordable and accessible computer-based testing facilities for students in the Local Government, thereby enhancing their educational opportunities.
Also, Hon. Kusimo promised to establish a Vocational Training Centre which will produce school uniforms for all government owned schools across the Local Government Area. He equally promised to ensure that Local Government roads in all the eleven wards will be rehabilitated while promising to implement other developmental initiatives which will focus on improving access to healthcare, education, and infrastructure for women and their families.

At the meeting, Hon. Kusimo emphasized the importance of women's economic empowerment in driving sustainable development within the Local Government. He encouraged the women to actively participate in the proposed initiatives and assured them of the local government's commitment to their success.
The meeting provided a platform for open dialogue and feedback, allowing market women and women leaders to share their concerns and suggestions. Hon. Kusimo assured them that their input would be carefully considered in the implementation of these developmental projects.
Responding on behalf of the women, Mrs. Jolaosho, the APC, Ifo Local Government, Woman Leader promised their unalloyed support for the administration of Hon. Idris Kusimo led administration in the Local Government. 

In attendance were the Vice Chairman, Hon. Abibat Ojo, Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA), Mr. Fatai Ogundele, Directors and Head of various Departments in the Local Government Area.
