ABEOKUTA NORTH LG BOSS , OYEGBOLA-SODIPO GIVES STERN WARNING TO ILLEGAL OCCUPANTS, PROMISES IMPROVED IGR , IMPACTFUL PROJECTS

In a bid to actualize the promises made during the electioneering campaign and make life bearable for the dwellers of the Council Area, the Executive Chairman, Abeokuta North Local Government, Hon Oyegbola -Sodipo has embarked on routine inspection on Local Government Landed properties and the on - going projects commenced by his predecessor in order to review and recover the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the Council. 
Hon. Oyegbola-Sodipo speaking with the Press at Obasa Sabo, one of the Councils landed property visited on Monday 16th, 2024 he said he will bring things back to the State as they should be and issued warning on those occupying Council properties illegally to resist or face the consequence, such as Lafenwa abattoir which has been deteriorated in value due to negligence of the butchers. He stressed that the abattoir will be renovated by his administration as new method is on the way to improve the Council IGR.
Similarly, the Local Government Chairman explained that most of the projects are progressing while some are nearly completed and very much on track as working with contractors will enhance speedy delivery of the projects.  He charged that they are making everything possible to operate a transparent governance as well restore peace back in the midst of Lafenwa market dwellers that are having issues with their trading.
"Right from the first day of our resumption, The Executive Governor of the State, His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON. has mandated us not to go to the Council  as administrators, but rather go in there and ensure the legacies of the Governor is achieved by going beyond the document to examine the fouls".
He however hinted that there are a lot to be done by increasing the IGR of the Council, stating that with the current state of income, developmental works cannot be accomplished, though things are quiet challenging and his administration would not bother the citizenry with high taxes and rates, but will identify and fully optimising the revenue points.
He emphasized "We created this Revenue Monitoring Team and as at today over 60 revenue points has been established in ANLG and as a result, we will significantly have revenue assurance which brings about conversation with various unions in order to have assurance of what comes out as IGR and also create employment for our younger people with right Compliance and requisite workforce to man the revenue point effectively " says the Council boss. 
Earlier, Hon. Oyegbola visited the Local Government piggery pen and feed mill at Imala which has been abandoned for many years back and called for total rehabilitation and proper allocation to right set of people who are ready to work. He however, stopped over at the Lepers Colony where he promised them Bags of Rice as Christmas gift. The spokesman of the Colony, Comrade Jimoh Ahmed appreciated the Chairman for the show of love bestowed on them.
In the same vein, the Hon. Oyegbola-Sodipo proceeded to the Local Government lock up shops opposite (NNPC) Olomore where he declared that the former Olomore lock up shops be Converted to Abeokuta North Local Government Computer Village with immediate effect. He then enjoined those who occupied the Council properties illegally to appear for proper allocation or face legal action.
Other places inspected were; Local Government Staff Quarters at Arakanga occupied by DSS, So-Safe corps, NCDC, Immigration, Amotekun corps and Local Government Area Office at  Lafenwa among others.

Among the entourage were; the Vice Chairman of the Local Government, Hon.Taiyelolu Egbeyemi, Leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Erubami Moruf Ajani and other Legislative members, Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA), Mrs Kikelomo Munirat Ajayi, Directors/Heads of Departments, Unit Heads, Admin/Information crew. 

Others include; High Chief Niyi Adeniran, a.k.a Baapitan, Hon. Makanjuola Soliu, former majority Leader of ANLG Legislative Arm and members of the Revenue Monitoring team recently inaugurated by the Executive Chairman.
