DEMOCRACY DAY: HON ADESINA, EWEKORO LOCAL GOVERNMENT BOSS, CONGRATULATES NIGERIANS.

...... Charges Nigerians to stand in the defence of the nation's democracy.


The Executive Chairman of Ewekoro Local Government, Hon Adesina Sikiru Adisa has joined other notable leaders in congratulating Nigerians, particularly, the people of the council area on the celebration of the Democracy Day in Nigeria while equally charging them to be resolute in the defence of the nation's democracy.

The Chairman gave the charge in a statement signed by the Council's Director Of Information, Mr.Olopade Sakiru,on Wednesday, marking the nation's Democracy Day.

" It is indeed great achievement, celebrating 25years of uninterrupted Democratic Governance in Nigeria.Therefore , i want to urge Nigerians to support government in the efforts of rebuilding a New Nigeria."--- The Chairman stated.
" Let us use the commemoration of June 12 as an opportunity to further entrench Democratic Governance."---He added.

According to the aim of celebration of Democracy which is to encourage to strengthen and consolidate Democracy, Hon Adesina emphasized that all hands must be on deck, not leaving it on the shoulder of those in government alone but rather it is a task for all Nigerians both at home and in diaspora.

He assured Nigerians that the hardship being experienced now will soon be a thing of the past, saying, "there is always a light at the end of the tunnel ".
Democracy Day is a national public holiday in Nigeria to commemorate the restoration of Democracy in 1999, commemorated on June 12 , until 2018 , it was celebrated annually on May 29 when President Muhammad Buhari moved it from May 29 to June 12 in honour of one of the national heroes of Democracy, Chief M.K.O. Abiola.
