GOV. ABIODUN PRESENTS STAFF OF OFFICE AND INSTRUMENT OF APPOINTMENT TO THE NEW DAGBUREWE OF IDOWA

The Ogun State Governor, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, has presented Staff of Office and Instrument of Appointment to the new DAGBUREWE OF IDOWA, His Royal Highness, Oba Alayeluwa (Barr.) Sikiru Kayode Adefuape Okuribido (Okulote II, Anowoneyo IV), at the palace of the Dagburewe of Idowa , on Wednesday 24th January 2024.
The Governor who was ably represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hazmat in his statement, said by the monarch's appointment as the new Dagburewe of Idowa, he has become a high-ranking member of the Ijebu Traditional Council and a permanent member of the Ogun State Council of Obas.
He enjoined the kabiyesi to see the appointment as a call to serve.
He further Implored the Kabiyesi to concentrate on the socio-economic development in Idowa and by extension, Ijebu land by mobilizing the people in such manner that their efforts will complement the administrative mantra of the state.
He also charged all sons and daughters of Idowa to cooperate with the new monarch, while the monarch should extend hands of fellowship to all and sundry.
He concluded by specially appreciating the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebu Land, His Royal Majesty, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, CFR. for his supportive role whom without hesitation gave his blessings in favour of the new Dagburewe of Idowa.
In his acceptance speech, the newly-installed Dagburewe of Idowa His Royal Highness, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adefuape Okuribido, gave thanks to Almighty God and His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Sikiru Kayode Adetona, CFR, LLD, JP (Ogbagba II), who consented to his installation as Dagburewe of Idowa, saying,
he was profoundly grateful for the trust and confidence placed in him to lead and serve as a custodian of the ancient town's traditional heritage.
He further extended his deepest gratitude to the Ogun State Governor, His Excellency,
Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun, CON, for his recognition and support.
He also expressed his sincere gratitude to his ruling House, the Anowoneyo Ruling House, and all the Kingmakers for their ability to fastrack the process of selection under one year, compared to over ten years experienced during the last nomination/ election period.
He concluded by thanking all, and called upon everyone to transverse together with him on a journey of progress, unity, and prosperity for all.
The occasion was witnessed by many dignitaries ranging from kings around and within Odogbolu Local Government, Directors from the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, the Vice Chairman, Odogbolu Local Government, Hon. (Mrs) Iretiolu Adenugba, the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Fasola Olamide; and all political functionaries in Odogbolu Local Government.
Others are: Ijebu Royal fathers, led by Orimolusi ijebu- Igbo, HRM Oba Lawrence Adebajo, all Baales in Idowa, Chiefs, Community leaders; Olorituns and all Muslim and Christian Clergies as well as Market Men and Women.
