The Executive Chairman of Ifo Local Government, Hon. Idris Olalekan Kusimo, has declared his commitment to establishing a partnership with Chinese investors from Tough Peak International Co. Ltd. Hon. Kusimo announced this during a meeting with the investors at the Council Secretariat on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, stating that the collaborative initiative is designed to explore opportunities in key sectors, including health, ICT, agriculture, and construction.
The delegation, led by Mr. Wu Jian Cheng, Agriculture Representative, arrived in Nigeria on October 21, 2025, and held substantive discussions with the Chairman and his team. The investors presented detailed proposals for collaboration, which encompass supplying modern medical equipments to enhance healthcare services, constructing contemporary housing, supporting cassava processing and other agricultural initiatives, and providing essential technological resources. The latter includes supplying computers and laptops and establishing state-of-the-art examination centers for students, aligning with national digital transformation goals in education.
Hon. Kusimo warmly welcomed the investors, acknowledging their dedication to fostering development in Africa through impactful investments. He reiterated his administration's commitment to ensuring the partnership's success, highlighting its potential to generate significant employment opportunities for the youth of Ifo.
The investors concluded by committing to return to China to prepare a comprehensive plan for the proposed partnership. This initiative is anticipated to stimulate the local economy, elevate living standards, and improve the quality of education in the Local Government Area.
Other distinguished representatives of the investor included Sun Hai Tao for Health, Mr. Wang Ying and Mr. Du Buguan for Construction, Miss Nong Shizhu for ICT, Mr. Philip Caleb Sinna as the Convener, and Mr. Ibikunle Ayokunle Oladimeji, the South West Representative.
The meeting was attended by respected officials of the Local Government, including the Vice Chairman, Hon. Abibat Ojo; SLG, Hon. Temitope Adegboyega; Hon. Adewale Craig, Supervisor for Water and Environment; Hon. Akeem Olaifa, Councilor for Ward 9; Hon. Adeolu Kazeem, Councilor for Ward 10; Hon. Haruna Ajos, Councilor for Ward 5 and Mr. Soyoye Oluseye Adeola, DGSA amongst many other key political and career officers of the Council.
