As Nigeria marks her 65th Independence Anniversary on October 1st, 2025, the Executive Chairman of Ewekoro Local Government, Hon. Adesina Sikiru Adisa has joined millions of Nigerians across the globe in celebrating this historic occasion.
According to Hon Adesina, Independence Day is not just a commemoration of the liberation from colonial rule, but a reminder of the sacrifices, vision, and courage of the founding fathers who laid the foundation for a sovereign Nigeria.
" Sixty-five years after, our dear nation has weathered storms and triumphed over challenges, proving to the world that Nigeria remains a land of resilience, hope, and greatness.
He commended efforts of Presidient Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and his administration for the various programmes focusing on economic reforms , security enhancement and youth empowerment that is gradually laying a stronger foundation for Nigeria 's of all and sundry dreams.
The Council's helmsman took time to appreciate the Ogun State Governor, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON on his purposeful and visionary leadership in the state with the giant strides in infrastructural renewal, agricultural development, industrial growth, youth empowerment, and educational advancement.

"Here in Ewekoro Local Government, we remain committed to complementing the state government’s efforts by prioritizing grassroots development. Our programmes are focused on expanding access to quality healthcare, rehabilitating rural roads, enhancing agricultural support, empowering small-scale traders, and fostering peaceful coexistence among our diverse communities. "
" As we celebrate our nation's 65th independence, I call on all Nigerians and particularly the people of Ewekoro Local Government, to strengthen the bonds of unity and patriotism. Let us remember that the greatness of Nigeria lies not in her natural resources alone but in the collective resilience and determination of her people,---hon Adesina stated.
Hon Adesina, therefore reaffirmed that the celebration calls for a deep sense of patriotism , urging all citizens to uphold democratic values, reject divisive tendencies, and remain committed to building a Nigeria that works for all.
