......celebrates first end of session in the history of the school, lays another foundation for the construction of a block of 2 Classrooms.
The establishment of Ewekoro Community Grammar School, a community self-help efforts is typically characterized by local participation, self-reliance and the pooling of resources to achieve common goals .
The Ewekoro Village members are actively involved in all steps of the establishment of the school, from planning to implementation.
In ensuring the development and progress of Ewekoro Community Grammar, the foundation of a block of two classrooms was laid recently in preparation for the 2025/2026 session.
In his welcome address, the Chairman of the School Management Committee, Mr. Bola Awesu, welcomed the dignitaries to the first end of the session of the school and foundation laying of block of classrooms event.
Mr.Awesu , explained that the additional infrastructure being put in place by Ewekoro villages will be of great benefit to the entire Ewekoro Local Government and ensure that the students of the school will have access to better and conducive learning environment .
He expressed his appreciation to parents, teachers and students for their support, cooperation and patience, while praying that the school will continue to exist til eternity.
The highly elated Baale Of Ewekoro, Chief Abdul-Wasiu Akintoku, commended the former/ late Baale, Alhaji, Chief Satari Akanbi Lawal's efforts for the conception of the establishment of the Ewekoro Grammar School but unfortunately he couldn't witness the realization of the dream during his life time.
Chief Akintoku, seized the opportunity to show his gratitude to members of the community, the Chiefs, parents, teachers and most importantly, the School Management Committee for their unflinching support, patience and financial commitments towards the the development and progress of Ewekoro Community Grammar School.
He , therefore, appealed to the sons and daughters of the Ewekoro Communities to lend their support towards the progress and development of the school.
In her own remarks, Mrs Adebari Mark, on behalf of the teachers of the school, thanked God for the privilege to be part of the success story, while equally appreciating Mr. Bola Awesu and members of the School Management Committee for their dedication and dogged determination in ensuring that the School continues to make progress.
" Honestly, you lead by example, spending money judiciously, toiling night and day for the brighter and greater future for the children,"--- She added.
Mrs Adebari didn't forget to appreciate the teachers for their dedication and commitment to ensuring that the students compete well with their counterparts in other schools .
" It is not easy, but endurance is our key word and i pray that we shall reap the fruits of our labour."
The students were not left out of the event, as Miss Abdul-Azeez Bilikisu of Junior Secondary School 1 , on behalf of the students expressed her heartfelt gratitude to their parents, for their support, sacrifice and being the backbone of their progress, standing by them during the thin and thick.
In the same vein, Miss Abdul-Azeez Bilikisu appreciated the School Management Committee for their support, continuous efforts, staring the ship of the school in a right direction, saying, " Your leadership has created a conducive atmosphere for learning, you mold these young minds, your sacrifice, patience and passion do not go unnoticed."
She , therefore, appealed to the special guests to also come to their aid in the development of infrastructures in the School.
In her vote of thanks, Mrs Oguntolu Kuburat , appreciated God for the success recorded so far, stressing that the laying of the foundation of the block of 2 Classrooms was conceived within 20 days , while commending Mr.Bola Awesu and members of the School Management Committee for their efforts.
Mrs Oguntolu, equally, thanked parents, teachers, community members, chiefs and Baale for their tireless efforts in the development of the school.
The event witnessed side attractions such as Drama , chorography, and cultural display as well as prayer session.
The dignitaries in attendance included: Chief Musediq Oloyede, the Eekerin of Ewekoro, Chief (Mrs) Gbadebo Musiliat, Iyaloja of Ewekoro, Chief Folusho Akinyemi, Asiwaju of Ewekoro, Chief Adegoke Kasali, Sigba Aje of Ewekoro and many others.
In an interview with the News Tentacles, after the event, the Chairman Of the School Management Committee of Ewekoro Community Grammar School, Mr. Bola Awesu, revealed that the establishment of the school was conceived two years ago to find solution to the challenge of the children going to far places, such as Papalanto, Arigbajo and Itori for their secondary education.
The Baale and Chiefs in Ewekoro village, then came up with the idea of having secondary school within the community.
Officers of The Ogun State Ministry Of Education, Science and Technology came for the inspection of the six hectares of land allotted for the construction of Ewekoro Community Grammar School which was approved with the conditions to be met.
Thereafter , after meeting some of the conditions, 2024/2025 educational activities commenced in the school with a block of three classrooms and offices donated by Lafarge African Plc from the yearly corporate social responsibility to the host communities.
In a joint effort, the members of the communities, baale, chiefs, PTA , and few philanthropists decided to construct a block of 2 Classrooms to accommodate more students for the 2025/2026 academic session, at least when Lafarge African Plc is not forthcoming.
