2024 FISCAL YEAR : HON ADESINA PRESENTS A BUDGET SIZE OF #3,989,252,398,80 TO THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL

A total sum of # 3, 989,252,398.80 has been presented by the Executive Chairman of Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State, Hon Adesina Sikiru Adisa , as the year 2024 appropriation bill to the legislative council.

The colourful budget presentation was held at the legislative chamber within the local government secretariat .

According to the Chairman, the sum of #466,020,000.00 was earmarked for capital, while recurrent expenditure would gulp #3,523,232,398.80.

The proposed budget, christened, " Budget Of Continuity" is expected to be financed through the Statutory Allocation/VAT / Excess Crude, State Allocation, Aids and Grants and Internally Generated Revenue, totalling, # 3, 989,252,398.80.

According to the Chairman, " The main goal and major priority of the 2024 Budget is to make it a realistic and purpose driven as much as possible and to improve the quality of life of the people of Ewekoro Local Government."

Hon Adesina further stated that the Budget Of Continuity was in pursuit of laudable objective as well as to build on the solid foundation already laid through policies,programmes and projects that would not only have direct impacts on the life of the people but would better the overall wellbeing of the grassroot populace.

The council helmsman, assured people of the council area of his commitment to the highest quality service, accountability, good governance and value for money would not be compromised.

" We shall continue to ensure prudent management of the financial resources of the Local Government by following due process, consulting and involving all stakeholders and blocking all revenue leakages for the benefit of the good people of our dear Local Government."--- The Chairman reiterated.

Hon Adesina, equally, expressed his appreciation to the Ogun State Governor, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, who has been a significant factor in the success story and achievements recorded so far by his administration, stressing, " Ewekoro Local Government still count so much on His Excellency's support."

The Local Government Boss, therefore, seized the opportunity to reel out his achievements in the area of developmental projects spread across the council area inspite of the economic challenges and financial constraints facing the Local Government.

In his acceptance speech, the leader of the legislative council, Ewekoro Local Government, Hon Abiola Muheeb Kehinde, commended the chairman, Hon Adesina Sikiru Adisa, for the adequate implementation of last year's budget in which various laudable projects that benefited the people of the council were executed across the ten political wards.

" I hope and believe that this year's estimate will be a continuation of what we have achieved with the last budget so far, as it is tagged, " The Budget Of Continuity " --- He said.

The leader of the legislative council, therefore, sought for the cooperation of the Supervisors and Director/ Head of Departments for the defence of the budget estimates of various departments in order for timely passage.

He , therefore , assured of the readiness of the members of the 6th legislative council to give speedy passage of the proposed Budget of Continuity to further consolidate on the goal of taking the Local Government to the next and higher level.

Hon Abiola, equally , used the occasion to enjoin the council management on the implementation of the two bye laws passed by the hallow chamber in the area of upward review of the Local Government revenue law and the law on establishment and maintenance of markets in Ewekoro Local Government so that the Internally Generated Revenue of the Local Government can be boosted.
