The Super Eagles were unimpressive in their last group match against the weeping team of group A, Guinea Bissau. Though Jose Pesseiro men won the encounter by a lone goal but their performance left much to be desired.

It was a game Nigerians expected the Super Eagles to go all out and win convincingly.

Thanks to an own goal by defender, Opa Sangate that gave Super Eagles Victory in the 36th, diverting into his own net in his bid to prevent Victor Osimhen from having contact with the ball.
The Super Eagles had two goals disallowed due to handballs by Victor Osimhen in the build up to the goals while Guinea Bissau, also, had a goal by Francu Lino Dju chalked off for a tight offside.

With the victory, Nigeria now go through as runner-up in group A behind Equatorial Guinea, leaving Super Eagles to face the second placed in group C, either Cameroon, Senegal or Guinea.

Meanwhile, it was a nightmare Monday for the host nation as Equatorial Guinea hammered them by 4--0.  The Nzalang Nacional, the fourth place AFCON finishers in 2015 and quarter - finalists in 2012 and 2021 stunned the whole world with the spectacular performance.
The encounter saw Ivory Coast dominating proceedings early in the game but wasted a lot of chances before the Equatorial Guinea seized the initiative with Emilio Nsue, scoring two goals to take his tournament tally to five as Pablo Gunnet and Yannick Bugla added one goal each to silence the Ivorians.

In the main time, the President of Equatorial Guinea, Teodoro Obianf Nguema has rewarded the Nzalang Nacional players with the staggering sum of £1M for their efforts. He also declared public holiday to celebrate the country's national team 's victory against the host nation.
